The NSW Department of Planning and Environment commissioned a team from Nature Advisory to advise on the impacts of wind farms on birds and bats in NSW and on an amendment to the Biodiversity Assessment Method to include rigorous investigation of bird and bat impacts of wind farms.

North East Link Project

The North East Link project is one of the largest road infrastructure projects in Melbourne for many years. It involves a new freeway linking the end of the Metropolitan Ring Road at Greensborough with the Eastern Freeway in Heidelberg. Substantial widening of the Eastern Freeway is also required. The total project value is over $15 billion.

Keystone Tarneit

Keystone Tarneit is a typical large greenfield residential property development within Melbourne’s designated West Growth Corridor. Keystone is also situated within the Melbourne Strategic Assessment (MSA) area and is subject to the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) Biodiversity Conservation Strategy (BCS).

Garfield Bandicoot

The Southern Brown Bandicoot is a listed threatened species under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) and under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act (FFG Act). The species had been detected in mixed native and introduced habitat in the eastern portion of the area and surrounds. Nature Advisory was engaged to develop a conservation management plan for Southern Brown Bandicoot on a 7.4 hectare parcel of land in Garfield, Victoria. This plan was requested by Cardinia Shire Council and the Department of Primary Industries and Environment (now DEECA) as part of a planning permit assessment process.

Golden Plains Wind Farm

Golden Plains Wind Farm is the largest approved wind farm in Victoria and one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. It replaces about one third of the generating capacity of the recently closed Hazelwood Coal-fired Power Station.

Eynesbury Township

The Eynesbury Township is a unique property development about 40 km west of Melbourne’s CBD surrounded by environmental assets such as the 180 ha Eynesbury Grey Box Woodland, Native Grassland Reserve, Greenhill and the Gorge and Werribee River Environs. Nature Advisory was engaged by Eynesbury Property Development Pty Ltd to respond to requirements under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) and the Victorian Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988 (FFG Act). In addition, we assisted with local planning permit requirements for the removal of native vegetation.

Clyde North Bushfire Hazard Management Plan
