Partnership over transaction

We're a leading ecological consultancy that’s invested in your project

We're a leading ecological consultancy that’s invested in your project success from day one. That means staying engaged through every phase. We seek to guide like partners, communicate like trusted advisors, and help you navigate complexity with clarity.

Partnership through every stage

We're alongside you from initial feasibility through to long-term operational compliance. We maintain active engagement - a dedicated project manager, senior oversight, and honest communication about what it means for your timeline and budget. Real partnership means adapting when circumstances change.

We do this because we're invested in your success, not just our contracted deliverables.

Solutions, not just constraints

We don’t just identify problems. We identify problems and show you how to move forward.

Our team understands the feasibility of development and regulatory realities. We help you design around constraints early, when changes are manageable rather than discovering problems after your layout is locked.

We find practical solutions that satisfy both environmental and regulatory requirements.

Deep in-house expertise

We have 90+ ecology specialists with expertise across birds, bats, and threatened flora & fauna. Your project gets oversight from a senior ecologist with regulatory expertise from day one; that’s a strategist who’s navigated mulitple EPBC approvals and complex planning pathways.

Because complex projects deserve expert-level judgment, not junior-level execution.

We think about client relationships in phases:

1

Clarity

Early engagement to understand your project, timeline, constraints, and vision. We assess what's on your site and its implications for viability, regulatory pathway, and cost.

2

Strategy

We develop a clear roadmap - what surveys are needed, what approvals are required, what the realistic timeline looks like, and what could derail things.

3

Execution

We conduct field work, analysis, and reporting while maintaining regular communication. Issues emerge? We flag them early.

4

Engagement

As approvals progress, we engage regulators, respond to requests, and guide you through decision points. On contentious projects, we provide expert evidence to inform panels and tribunals.

5

Compliance

Post-approval, we support condition compliance, operational monitoring, and adaptive management. We're still engaged and still solving problems.

Progress and Protection Can Be Complementary

Development and environmental protection aren't opposed - they can be complementary when approached strategically. Good ecological studies inform better design. Better design reduces environmental impact, simplifies approvals, and creates projects that communities can support.

Rigorous Honesty

We tell you what we actually think, even when it's uncomfortable. We won't overstate certainty. We won't recommend solutions we don't think will work. We won't claim expertise we don't have. And we'll tell you if a site is genuinely unviable, before you invest too much.

Partnership Over Transaction

Transactional relationships are clear and limited: we do X, you pay for X, we're done. Partnership relationships are flexible and ongoing: we're solving problems together, adapting as circumstances change, staying engaged through completion and beyond.

"Nature Advisory has been an integral part of our team to deliver nature-based excellence in our $600m Scotch Hill Gardens residential project. NA also provided input into development of the Nature Based Cities framework itself and worked closely with the project team to ensure that the goal of creating an Exemplary Nature Based Cities accredited project was achieved. "Nature Advisory’s understanding of native vegetation, planning requirements, and real-world site considerations really stood out. They took the time to clearly explain recommendations and worked collaboratively with us to find solutions that balanced environmental responsibilities with project objectives."

Proudly supporting Greenfleet

Since 2022, Nature Advisory has offset 944 tonnes of carbon emissions through our partnership with Greenfleet; the equivalent of taking more than 200 cars off the road.

Our contribution supports large-scale native reforestation at Territory and Bromfields Road on Boonwurrung Country in Victoria, part of Strzelecki Nature Link — the largest biodiversity restoration initiative in the South Gippsland region.

Beyond carbon removal, these legally protected forests rebuild habitat, strengthen biodiversity corridors, and create resilient ecosystems that will thrive for generations across Australia and New Zealand.
