As Nature Advisory’s Team Lead of Property Development and Conservation, Chris supports a team of Project Managers working across Property Development, Infrastructure, Nature Positive and Conservation sectors. He has extensive experience and expert knowledge of the legislative frameworks surrounding ecology including native vegetation, threatened species, land management, and bushfire planning. His leadership helps ensure that the team provides project solutions that align with client objectives and regulatory requirements, while promoting positive environmental outcomes.
Chris graduated from Deakin University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Environmental Science and in 2017 completed his Honours with an Analysis of the Ecological Vegetation Classes of Winton Wetlands with a focus on effective management decisions for future enhancement of the wetlands.
Prior to joining the Nature Advisory team and while undertaking his studies, Chris worked as a Bush Crew Member in land management. During his tenure, Chris worked in sensitive bush rehabilitation through site assessment, weed control, and indigenous plantings throughout Victoria. Throughout his time here, Chris honed his skills in plant identification, ecological restoration as well as stakeholder engagement.
In 2019, Chris joined the Nature Advisory team as a Field Botanist, where he spent the next three years, continuing to develop his botanical and report writing skills. Over this time, he built an in-depth understanding of policy and legislation that applies to the projects he worked on.
In 2022, Chris became a Project Manager working on multiple small and large-scale projects spanning the Renewable Energy, Infrastructure and Property Development sectors. During this time, Chris took on additional responsibilities as Technical Lead for Botany and Bushfire Assessments, providing leadership in this space across the organisation. More recently, Chris has also been involved in the urban ecology space, working on a range of Green Star accreditation projects as well as contributing to a chapter and guidelines on ecological outcomes within the Nature Based Cities initiative.
Chris became Nature Advisory’s Team Lead for Property Development and Conservation at the start of 2025.
