Nature Advisory is an employee-owned ecological consultancy, providing flora and fauna assessments for projects such as residential development and renewable energy projects. In response to our rapid growth, we are developing our GIS Systems and seek a skilled Geospatial Analyst to join and lead our GIS team. The GIS team comprises currently four GIS Analysts and supports a team of 60+ Botanists, Zoologists and Project Managers across Victoria, NSW, Queensland and Tasmania to collect, utilise and maintain geospatial data. The ideal candidate would have minimum 2 years’ experience, comprehensive knowledge of the technical and theoretical aspects that underpin Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and working knowledge of Esri Geospatial Suite (ArcMap, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro) and be a competent team leader.
This role presents an opportunity for someone who has gained experience working in a mid-level role and is ready take on more significant responsibilities. You will need to apply your skillset and knowledge to find solutions to a range of geospatial related challenges, design & implement best practice database systems to support our evolving mapping needs and keep up do date with available tools and technologies. You’ll have the opportunity to work autonomously as well as in collaboration on various projects. Your role will involve leading and advising in geospatial database management, alongside contributing to the development of systems and team management.
This role is a permanent full-time position within Nature Advisory based in Melbourne. A permit to work in Australia is essential.
