Chris is a senior botanist and project manager who shows a keen interest in nature, not only from his studies, but through his volunteering, hobbies, travel and previous employement.
His thesis was effectively a vegetation management plan for Winton Wetlands, to help make more focussed and effective management decisions for the future enhancement of the Wetlands. With this experience he has strengthened his skills in vegetation assessment, data analysis, critical thinking and report writing.
He has previously had hands on, practical experience in the environmental sector from his role as a Bush Crew member at the environmental services company, Landlinks. Here, he was involved in sensitive bush rehabilitation through site assessment, weed control and indigenous plantings. Other tasks included assisting in managing large scale landscaping projects.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys travelling and takes this opportunity to volunteer some of his time in these destinations. Such as assisting in rainforest restoration in Sumatra, undertaking fauna surveying for Oxford University in England and helping build and construct amenities at an orphanage in Cambodia.
Chris’s future focus will be on continuing to improve his working knowledge on environmental matters so he can assist clients in achieving positive results for both them and the environment.
