Senior Zoologist

Senior Zoologist

Pete has extensive experience working in the ecological sector in Victoria, in government, NGOs and currently with private consultancy. He has extensive knowledge of the identification, distribution and abundance of birds throughout Australia and of other terrestrial fauna of south-eastern Australia. He joined Nature Advisory (then Brett Lane and Associates) in 2004 as a Zoologist and progressed to Senior Zoologist in 2012.

Pete has expertise in the identification, assessment and management of rare, threatened and migratory fauna of Australia, particularly the south-east. His forte is primarily bird and bat assessment and monitoring programs for wind farms and other developments.

Outside of work hours, Pete’s travels have taken him to every continent including Antarctica where he indulges his pursuits of birding and bird photography. He is also fluent in Indonesian and an accredited translator of that language.
