Kate is an experienced ecologist having worked in research, consulting, and project management for over 20 years.  Before coming to Nature Advisory in 2021, Kate worked on a range of applied flora and fauna research projects largely in semi-arid ecosystems in Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia. In 2004 she completed her PhD on Belah (Casuarina pauper) woodlands of north west Victoria and has published in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of arid ecology, natural regeneration, fire and landscape ecology.  

Kate has experience managing complex projects in a range of sectors including natural resource management, mining, and commercial development. Working extensively with a range of clients including corporate, academic, government and private landholders, Kate has strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.  

Since joining Nature Advisory, Kate has worked on a range of projects such as Vegetation Removal Assessments and Flora and Fauna Assessments including large infrastructure and mining projects. She has prepared Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC Act) Referrals and EES assessments. Her attention to detail ensures successful outcomes delivered on time and in budget. 

Kate is a passionate ecologist and outside of work loves to spend time outdoors camping, cycling or bushwalking with friends and family.
