Nature Advisory Pty Ltd is an Australian employee-owned specialist consulting ecological company, providing expert advice, field services, and reporting to organisations, governments and private clients on a range of ecosystem monitoring and management projects.  We specialise in renewable energy and land development impact assessments and ensure environmental impacts from these projects are minimised in line with regulatory requirements. About the role 

 

This is a continuing, full-time position within Nature Advisory. You will be in a supportive leadership role responsible for our teams of ecologist across Australia. It is a newly created role that aims to inspire and align our state teams to enable the company’s future growth and development while meeting staff and client expectations. 

You will lead quality, consistency and delivery across our offices in the provision of technical client services in ecology. 

Your strong leadership and management skills will enable you to guide the development of state teams, their leadership, resourcing, technical strength, professional development and innovation in line with the company’s strategic directions and objectives. 

We are seeking a strong, supportive leader who will:

  • Lead and mentor an enthusiastic, focused and disciplined team of developing business unit and technical team leaders to further develop their leadership and management skills;
  • Encourage an engaged, innovative and create workplace; 
  • Use your consulting and business management experience to support our teams to deliver optimal development outcomes that avoid and minimise impacts on biodiversity in the context of related regulations.
  • Bring a focus on the technical robustness of our advice and the clarity of our reporting, driving innovation and consistency across our practice.

Key Selection Criteria

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in ecology, environmental science and/or related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 10 years’ exemplary management and leadership experience in a consulting environment; 
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in team leadership; 
  • Strong ecological data and interpretation skills;
  • High quality reporting skills;
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as within a team.
