Senior Zoologist – Zoology Team Leader

Curtis is a senior zoologist with over 15 years’ experience in the environmental management industry. Most of his career has been in ecological consulting and he has worked Australia-wide. He joined Nature Advisory as a Zoologist and has progressed to a senior position within the company leading the technical zoological team.

Specialising in ornithology, Curtis has an extensive knowledge in Australian birds with specialised experience in birds of south-east Australia. He has undertaken targeted surveys for a variety of threatened animals across Australia including Brolga, Carnaby’s Cockatoo, Powerful Owl, Swift Parrot, White-throated Needletail, migratory shorebirds, Southern Brown Bandicoot, Southern Greater Glider, Striped Legless Lizard, Growling Grass Frog and Golden Sun Moth to name a few.

Curtis has a great appreciation of the natural wonders Australia has to offer and spends a lot of his free time exploring the wonderful national parks and reserves throughout the country. He makes it his goal to visit at least one new area of Australia each year to explore its natural beauty and to discover what animals occur in these areas.
