Tom is a zoologist with over 12 years’ experience in the private environmental sector.
With a strong attention to detail and an excellent understanding of Australia’s environmental legislation, Tom consistently provides high quality scientific advice to clients. He is a specialist in the field of ornithology and is committed to assessing the impacts to birds from wind farms.
Tom’s focus is designing and undertaking bird monitoring surveys for projects. His technical field skills coupled with his GIS skills have helped create minimum impact wind farm development footprints for numerous projects throughout Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. Tom has also worked across the transport, government and mining sectors where he has completed fauna and flora surveys, spatial and laboratory data analysis and developed digital field data capture systems.
He leads the technical and professional development of the Zoology team in Queensland, a role that allows him to pass on his comprehensive knowledge and experience.
Tom is actively involved in citizen science projects where his appreciation for birds in early childhood began.
