Nature Advisory Botany Honours Scholarships
Nature Advisory, formerly BL&A, has built a team over 20 years that is responsive, expert and highly respected. Many of our team have been with the company for over a decade and started as young graduates. Nature Advisory is still growing and believes in developing young ecologists. We believe that training undergraduate botanists in plant identification is a vital skill. Nature Advisory is very keen to assist and employ the best and brightest as part of our commitment to our clients and to the highest quality scientific work.
Nature Advisory is contributing an annual donation of $15,000 to Latrobe University to support a Botany Honours student. The honours project will have a particular focus on building plant identification skills. This generous donation will cover some living costs and travel and accommodation costs associated with undertaking their botanical research. This will enable the student to focus on their studies, maximizing the chances of an excellent (H1) outcome. The University will decide on the successful candidate from a small shortlist it believes is suitable. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work for 12 months with Nature Advisory after graduation subject to academic performance.
Nature Advisory support for the Latrobe Botanical Society
Nature Advisory will also be providing $2500 annually to the Latrobe Botanical Society. Brett Lane of Nature Advisory said “I was really encouraged to hear about this student initiative and wish to encourage it. I’ve spoken to Nature Advisory team members and they are enthusiastic about supporting this society.” Specifically, we can provide small grants for projects/field trips and, on weekends, many of our botanists are happy to accompany the students on field trips to help them learn their plant identification and to discuss relevant issues, such as what it’s like to work in consulting, how the environmental regulations actually work and how to prepare for a career in botany.
