Watch: Biodiversity regulations that affect developments in Victoria

Our Managing Director, Brett Lane, was recently invited to present to the Association of Land Development Engineers on Commonwealth, state and local biodiversity regulations that affect the planning and execution of development projects in Victoria.  His presentation provides a quick overview of how these regulations may affect your project. Brett touches on impacts to Matters of National Significance and the process of submitting an EPBC Act referral. He also explains the implications of projects located within Melbourne’s growth areas, which are subjected to the Melbourne Strategic Assessment and Precinct Structure Plans. Brett emphasizes the importance of road reserves with remnant vegetation and species listed under the FFG Act. In addition, the presentation briefly outlines the requirements and procedures for removing native vegetation protected under Clause 52.17 of the Victoria Planning Provisions.
